Ryan Lane
Mr. Lane has more than 14 years experience as a leader in the field of international disaster management and humanitarian relief. He has built up extensive knowledge and implementation capability in the areas of intercultural leadership, emergency management, environmental restoration, WASH, health/medical, food security, livelihoods, shelter, cash assistance, and civil society organization.
This work has taken Mr. Lane to many challenging locations around the world, including Myanmar, Thailand, The West Bank, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan, Greece, Senegal, Uganda, Dominica, The Bahamas, Ethiopia, and more. Through this work, he has developed a strong skill-set for international team building and operational acuity, as well as cross-cultural competency.
Mr. Lane also spent time early in his career, working as a Business Manager for Apple, Inc. His goal there was to work hard developing business accounts and solutions for the company, while learning as much as he could about the leadership practices of one of the most well-run organizations in the world. After three successful years of team leadership there, he moved back into international aid work, and took the lessons learned at Apple with him.
Over the course of his career, he has been responsible for annual program budgets of up to $50 Million USD, and has supervised over 250 staff members at a time, in both field and headquarters situations.
Currently, Mr. Lane is residing in Ethiopia, working as the Country Director for Samaritan's Purse, leading all in-country programming and operations.
